Red Hat Enterprise MRG - Known REALTIME Issues
This page provides updated information about known issues in the REALTIME component of the Red Hat Enterprise MRG beta. The information is provided in order to raise awareness of known problems so that beta participants can be most efficient and not waste time. This information will be updated throughout the course of the beta.
The first section describes generic issues which are not particular to specific hardware. The second section describes hardware specific issues.

Known Problems
- RHEL5 kdump problems - On some hardware, devices need to be reset during the load of the kdump kernel. If you have problems with kdump, you may need to edit the
/etc/sysconfig/kdumpfile and addreset_devices=1to theKDUMP_COMMANDLINE_APPENDvariable. This setting will be the default in RHEL5.2.

Known Hardware Failures
- MegaRAID SAS driver - It is required that the nodelay=1 module load option of the megaraid_sas module be specified (and mkinitrd subsequently run). This problem has only been observed on Dell systems with a PERC 5/i controller. Bug 250266.
- nVidia SATA controler fails to boot - This issue is seen on HP xw9300 Viper.
- QLogic FC failing under load - adapters using the qla2xxx drivers are experiencing bugs under load. This issue has been observed on Dell Power Edge 1850 with PCI-X. This is being worked on at Qlogic. Bug 316691.
